Welcome to the official Imagine School at Lakewood Ranch Internet Site.  The purpose of this site is twofold.  First of all, this site will provide parents, both prospective and those with children enrolled in our school, with a plethora of pertinent school information.  Secondly, we envision this site developing into an integral part of our school curriculum.  We intend to utilize this site as an educational tool that will challenge our students and innovate our teachers' instruction.

Brief History of Imagine School at Lakewood Ranch

Imagine School at Lakewood Ranch was founded in August of 2008.  We started the school year with 57 students in a temporary location, the Braden River Baptist Church.  During our time at the Braden River Baptist Church, our dedicated teachers, parents, and students bonded together and laid the foundation to "a learning community full of achievement and hope". 

Utilizing the Imagine Schools' Shared Values of Integrity, Justice, and Fun as a guiding force, Imagine School at Lakewood Ranch found itself growing and growing.  By the time December was upon us, Imagine School at Lakewood Ranch had increased enrollment from 57 students to 82 students.

This increase in our enrollment could be attributed to three factors:

1.) The  Imagine School culture we instilled here that asks parents, teachers, students, and school leaders to work together and make decisions that are important and worthwhile.  At Imagine School at Lakewood Ranch, a sense of pride and ownership is present in all of our stakeholders.

2.) Our instructional delivery model,  Project CHILD which provides students with an individual educational experience that is unique to each child.

3.) A dedication to four principles that ensures our continued success:

*We set high expectations for all stakeholders of our learning community.

*A commitment to building strong interpersonal relationships and a belief that working as a team can yield the highest of results.

*The understanding that this learning community must be in a state of continuous improvement.  We understand that our school evolves and will continue to evolve over time.  We must avoid being stagnant with our instruction and programs.

*Lastly, every child is unique and deserves their own educational path.

4.) The people we have put in place to provide children with meaningful worthwhile lessons and activities that instill a love of learning in our students.

In January of 2009, we moved to our beautiful permanent location in Lakewood Ranch.  At our permanent location, Imagine School at Lakewood Ranch welcomed another 70 students.  With 152 students, Imagine School at Lakewood Ranch was a thriving institute of education.

The 2009-2010 school year was one of great growth and success.  By the close of the 2009-2010 school year, we had 478 students that called Imagine School at Lakewood Ranch their school.  These students, from VPK to 7 ^th grade, walked into their classrooms knowing that they would interact with a group of educators that were not only innovative with their instruction, but also dedicated to making every child feel unique and special.

The 2010-2011 school year has been one full of great successes and development.  We have approximately 600 students from VPK-8th Grade.  This school year, we have introduced a virtual education component to our learning environment, continuing our focus on preparing all of our students for college, and a commitment to develop the character of our young scholars.
